Presentation Concept Slide Editor by spiceofdesign Presentation Concept Slide Editor by spiceofdesign
A continuation of my presentation concept.

The first view shows the theme picker, only visible on the first selection of the create slide view, although the theme for the presentation could be c hanged later.

The second view is where you pick the slide layout.

The third view shows the editing screen.

Made in Inkscape 0.48. Fonts are Droid Sans and Roboto.

Can you post a .svg of that? I'd like to experiment a little with it.

is the development still active, I am interested in making one but it would be pointless if its still active

I don't think... Office Suite is something very difficult. Thus 99% chances that this app is not in development.

I honestly have no idea since I have very little to do with actual development

I like it, but I feel th Edit Content Dialog is kind of redundant, why can't you just edit it 'in' the content area?

I'll look forward to the day when this application becomes a reality. Impress is currently the weakest in the LibreOffice suite, and trails despairingly far behind Powerpoint and Keynote in the ability to create beautiful presentations without difficulty.

What do you think of having a "Library" button instead of new, open, save, export, like on Pages/Numbers/Keynote for iOS? Clicking it would put you in a view where you can manage your docs/presentations/spreadsheets.

Maybe, although then the top bar would be almost redundant.

Even if you don't make the application, will you do the themes for LibreOffice? They look great :)

I would, but LibreOffice theming is just weird and also it's really hard to design themes when you don't know what fonts the user will have preinstalled.

I (and the LibreOffice design team) could help you with that.
We could also push the developers to include some nice fonts by default.

Looks great. Are there any plans to actually create this application?

Any plans to package it with elementary? I actually think it should have it's own set of office applications. Take a leaf out of Apple's book and do a pages, numbers, keynote -esque set of applications. Would add a lot to the OS, plus Linux is lacking any really smart office apps right now, since even LibreOffice is nauseating.

Not currently, no, since the development has just started, and it's really just a side project for someone so far, with only one person working on it. I don't think there's even a name or a launchpad page for it yet.

Well good luck to them in any case, I'd love to see Linux get an application like this. :)
