Notifications Concept by spiceofdesign Notifications Concept by spiceofdesign
Since everyone seems to be doing a notifications concept at the moment, here is mine. The styling is completely arbitrary, but the the idea consists of notifications with a clear close button for quick dismissal and an arrow that would open the relevant application or complete the relevant action. For some notifications, such as "Now connected to XYZ network, the arrow would not be present, since this requires no user feedback. After a notification has timed out or been dismissed it is added to a notifications queue (newest at the top), which is a sub-workspace accessible using a keyboard shortcut (I would the animation of sliding the whole workspace to the left, which the notifications panel sliding in at the same time, so that both remain visible).

I really like the way notify-osd looks in ubuntu, but the one thing that makes me angry is <rage>THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO CLOSE BUTTON AND THERE'S NO CUSTOMIZATION. </rage>

I'd really like to get the ubuntu notifications looking like this :D

Thanks I always found notify-osd was good when released, but since has had very little done to it.

The gradients are a bit jarring.

The styling was just to make each item separate, whereas an actual version would be more polished.
