Rebound of Pantheon Greeter

This is a rebound of DanRabbit's Pantheon Greeter: [link]

Whilst I liked the look, I felt that certain alignment and spacing issues could be fixed, particularly around the login box.

I hope you can help me with this question.. How can I Link an SVG icon to another SVG icon? I've seen this on all the Icons i have in my PC but i can't figure out how to do it?.
